Greg Ruland ponders his lead - Zach Duran

Greg Ruland holds a juris doctor degree from University of Oregon School of Law. He worked his first professional writing job at age 15 as staff writer for Kids Ink, a Rocky Mountain News supplement. After 13 years in private practice, Ruland retired from law to operate a small book store in Sedona, Ariz. Two years later, the store sold and Ruland revived a career in journalism. He eventually managed three community newspapers, one of which was recognized for community service and journalistic achievement by the Arizona Newspaper Association for three consecutive years ending in 2009. No longer an editor, Ruland continues to report community news from Cottonwood, Ariz.
